Blanche Nettles Powers is a visual artist, working primarily in painting and drawing. Born in Rochester, Minnesota, she earned an MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design, and maintains her studio practice in Savannah, Georgia. Nettles Powers has been awarded several artist residencies which have taken her various parts of the United States, including New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Wyoming, and Colorado. Recently, she began a project to restore a vacant Victorian home c.1888, in Savannah's Historic Landmark District, and plans to relocate her studio to the restored building upon completion. Exhibitions of Blanche’s work have been featured in The Week magazine and MutualArt magazine.
